Showcase at the Trades Club
The first OMS Showcase of 2007 will be at the Trades Club this Saturday, 28th April, with Mabel Blue, Paul Weatherhead, Joe Rybicki & the amazing Tom & Ed Brothers, and Nimrod.
Here’s what the Trades Club publicity has to say…
“Mabel Blue, the ‘husky diva’ of the Open Mic, will be singing a selection of her well-crafted songs about life, love and longing. Many know Paul Weatherhead from Electric Brains and The Ukranians. Joe Rybicki is one of the most talented young singer-songwriters to come out of the calder valley is recent years. He already has many public perfomances behind him, including an appearance with Pete Docherty’s Babyshambles. Tom ‘n Ed operate singly or together, in straight and comic numbers, and have recently got together with Joe. Nimrod is a great funky jazz rock band collective fronted by Neil Munroe, who sings & plays the guitar with great driving energy, and Sarah Byron, who is nothing short of magical on the electric fiddle.”

Oh dear. I’m not in the Electric Brains and they can’t spell “Ukrainians”!

Let’s not forget that this is the Trades Club’s notoriously illiterate publicity department we’re talking about here, Paul. They’ve spelt Doherty wrong too, though by some miracle Joe Rybicki seems to have got away unscathed.

Oops! I confess, the bad spelling’s down to me. Sorry!
Other problems with reading & copying are down to the Trades.
