We’re very lucky to have a house guitar at all, of course. The present one was bought from the lovely, (and much missed – come back soon Clive) Clive Russell back around surgery 70 or 80 or so. It has served us well, but we have reached the decision to retire the poor beast.
It’s a lovely guitar for a certain type of player, but the narrow neck and high action don’t lend it to use by one and all. So, we had a look at the bank balance, and thanks to all your generosity over the years in the raffle, we find that we can afford a new house guitar!
A quick glance through the Musicians Centre online catalogue shows they do a nice line in Freshman, Tanglewood and other guitars, so I think the best bet will be to keep it local and get one from there. Any of you have any thoughts on what kind you’d like to see us get?
