Hebden Calling the Hippy Dead

Paul Weatherhead must be Hebden Bridge’s most prolific musician du jour. Two recent concept ep’s, Night of the Hippy Dead and Hebden Calling have recently hit the streets, and he is apparently hard at work on yet another opus. Paul’s songs are witty like the Bonzo’s, dark like Kafka, and more entertainingly parochial than the Hebden Bridge Times.
The highlight from ‘Hebden Calling’ is definitely ‘Hebden Council’s digging up the Ley Lines’, a heartfelt paean to better days when the Old Town bus could actually move along the streets.
Paul’s a huge favourite down at the Stubbings on a Wednesday, and if you come down too, he’ll be more than happy to flog you a cd or two.

Hi Paul,
Long time. . . etc. Great to learn (via the web) that you and Westy have earned fame (and fortune?) with Ukrainians. Saw Gedge of WP in small bar Pittsburgh a few years ago, and swapped “pleasantries/peasantries”.Always was the weak link myself. . . . anyway, e-mail address is marsden@iup.edu if you feel like getting in touch. Like I say, has been a long time, but I still regale people here (US) with stories of our singing Lola in the subways. . .
Cheers,
John
