Well another Cracking evening at the stubbin wharf ! Jay and Cayn were the Comperes for the evening, and as normal you never know whats just round the corner!
Mand was thrown in at the deep end with her lights on broadway song after cayn opened with a poem,
Jon athon was still singing his cocaine blues, while Mark croft brought us some more lennon and Mc Cartney.
Stu Dave and Stefan from Mossley played us some blinding music between them and went down a storm, it was only a shame stefans performance was so late in the evening when many people had had to go but the ripples of his performance is being talked about round the valley ( bit like the earthquake )if you missed it they will be playing at the festival in Hebden .
Back to the local talent, Mr paul Weatherhead went all religious on us with his book of revelations , then Mark Harrison sings about any of us not being touched by madness (he knows us all so well.)
The return of Duncan with so sad nice guitar playing, and we were treated to a new song by alice written for her, won,t be long before we have all learnt it and are singing along.
Alice has entered another singing Competition which we are all sure she will do really well in Good luck.
There seemed to be a cluster of alices at the open mic on Wednesday, that seems to be attracting Jesters we had a visit a few weeks ago by a jester who sang Scarborough fair this week we were visited by Elfin Brian in full Jester attire told the audience they were singing out of tune but told us we were all beautiful !!
Jay played us his new song strange goings on under the floor boards at his house.
stefan and stu treated us to another song blue tattoo losing a string along the say but the true perfessional that he is carried on regardless with 5 strings, a theatrical wonder full of energy , then we were down to 4 strings when johnathon whipped his banjo out and treated us to his second song of the evening .
Andy Weatherheard played his storyteller he doesn,t sing he is the strong silent type, followed by Toms soothing tones on the guitar . The evening was closed by jay and cayn who recited a poem over jays playing.
thanks to everyone who turned up performers and audience alike do remember its not only for musicians its for all performers we haven,t had any fire eaters yet, weve had crisp eaters , but not fire eaters !
Thanks for the open mic plug up at the cross at heptonstall we went to have a look on friday seems a good evening , we do believe its once a month but i think its not on next month til next week !
